A few more details about the author...

I was born in South Wales in 1947 and came to Canada at the age of 8.  My parents and three sisters moved to southern British Columbia in 1968 but I remained in Ontario.  My Mum and Dad passed away within four days of each other in June 2010.  They had celebrated 67 years of marriage on January 13th.  My three sisters with their respective spouses and my nieces and nephews lived in the lower mainland of BC; however, in the past few years my one sister has retired to Mexico and another has died from brain cancer, while my youngest sister remains in BC.
I have lived mostly in Southern Ontario and have made my home in Newmarket for the past 25+ years.  I am married to Jeff and we celebrated our 25th anniversary on October 11th, 2012 with a trip to Hawai'i including a 7 day cruise.  We have two sons and one daughter, two daughters-in-law and eight grandchildren to whom I am "Nana", two boys (the eldest and the youngest) and six girls.  I now have one great-grandchild, Noah, and we are excited to be expecting our second in March of 2019.  I enjoy my time with my family and try to spend as much time with them as I can.

My Dear Hubby & I!

This was taken on our 18th anniversary in 2004 at our favorite place of Los Abrigados Resort and Spa in Sedona, Arizona.  It was taken by Nora Stewart, a photographer based in California who often comes to Sedona as a wedding photographer.  She certainly was able to capture us and our happiness!!

My favorite music is Country although I do enjoy a wide range from Easy Listening, the Oldies, to light Jazz and Classical.
Books I have read lately encompass historical fiction around the time of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I or Arthur and tales of Avalon.  Other than that I read historical books related to my genealogy quests or for light reading, romances.
I enjoy watching movies and TV.  Some of the movies I would watch time and again is anything with Sean Connery or Kevin Costner.  Needless to say "Robin Hood" (which has them both!) is one of my all time favorites.  "First Knight", "Hunt for Red October", "Elizabeth", "Mrs. Brown", "Contact", "October Skies" and "Da Vinci Code" are all movies I would see repeatedly.
Jeff and I enjoy our three dogs, Meisha, Penny and Zoey.   Dotti was a cross between a Border Collie and Lab.   She was the 'old girl' at seventeen when she went over the rainbow bridge in January 2016!  Piper, who was a beautiful Golden Retriever at eleven years old unfortunately had a stroke and joined Dotti in April that same year.   Meisha is a sweet, quiet little Husky with a lovely personality.  She arrived over Christmas 2007 originally settling in with Piper and Dotti exceptionally well. She's very laid back usually but every now and again can get a very stubborn streak.  Our newest little additions are Penny and Zoey, both miniature dachshunds!  This is a very different breed for us but I had been 'dog-sitting' my granddaughter, Mykaela's, dog, Dobby, who was a "doxie" and fell in love with the breed.  After Dotti and Piper were gone, Meisha was very lonely so I went searching and found little Penny. She was born on July 16, 2016, is mahogany in colour and has a lovely personality.  However, Penny was a little lonely in the house all by herself so little Zoey soon joined our family.  Zoey was born on January 23, 2017 in Newfoundland and her breeder brought her to Toronto where we met her at the airport to pick her up. The two little ones and Meisha get along very well.
